Eric Corp Gamer's RU Exclusive Review 22
Intelligent Qubehttp://snesorama.us/images/ss/PSX/Intelligent_Qube_ntsc-front.jpg
You may be wondering... what in the world is Intelligent Qube? Intelligent Qube (or Kurushi in Europe) is a rather weird PlayStation game, released in 1997. Since it sold poorly in North America, many people probably never heard of this, and became rather expansive in comparison to other games. It's a rather obscure puzzle game that involves cubes (doesn't it seem obvious?). It may sound stupid, but it holds more than it seems like.
REVIEW:
Graphics: C+
For a game released in 1997, it doesn't look half bad. The game is rather relativity simple, but the graphics work well for this type of game. The person you supposed to be looks alright and have decent animation to boot. The cubes looks pretty good, with no bland textures or anything bad I know of. There's also no background, There's not much to say about this game's graphics, but for a budget game about cubes, it's above average for this type of game.

Gameplay: A
The point of this game is to complete all the puzzles in each level without falling off the stage. In each puzzle, there is a section of cubes that will move closer to you. There are 3 types of cubes the game utilizes: the gray, black, and green ones. The gray cubes are the plain normal ones. The green cubes are the advantage cubes, which has the ability to capture all the cubes within the square. The black cubes are the forbidden cubes, which you should stay away from, if you do capture it, one of the gray bars on the lower right corner will become red, and if all the gray bars are filled, the lowest row will collapse. The point of each section is to capture all the gray and green cubes, while you let the black cubes roll off the field. If you let the other ones fall off, a gray bar will be filled. Another thing, if you get squished by a cube, the cubes will automatically drop off, making all cubes (including forbidden ones) count on your gray bars, and that means trouble for you. Also, you have to capture all the cubes within a specific amount of moves to achieve a bonus (brilliant, true genius, great etc.). Each time you receive either bonus, a row of cubes will appear at the bottom. Once you complete each level, you will receive 1000 points x the amount of rows available in the level. You repeat until all 5 levels are cleared or you fall off the stage. The gameplay seems simple too, but it's pretty addicting if you know what I mean, and really fun even for a long time.

Sound: B+
The music in this game sounds pretty good for a budget game, but I wouldn't say it's like the top best there. I can't really explain sound very well, so I let you judge it yourself:

Controls: A+
Do I really need to say more? The controls are simple, and I'm glad puzzle games are like this. Pretty niche...
Replay Value: A-
Since the game is really fun and addicting, you'll probably be playing from years on end, but people who aren't into obscure games like this, then I wouldn't recommend it so much.
Overall: A
This game has got to be one of the best games that barely no one seems to know of. I recommend taking a look at it, I think this games needs more recognition than it receives...and if so, check out I.Q. Final (that game is much better than the original).
