Personally, this looks awesome but the whole aspect of Team Ninja is making me a bit nervous about the game (Not a big DOA fan and Ninja Gaiden 2 was meh) but it just looks like it's going to be a 2.5 Metroid with bouncing breasts :D
My pants need changing. This looks really good.

I'm not a big fan of Metroid but this game looks really really good! Might have to get it when it comes out now!

I'm sure it looks better in the trailer and is a lot less fast paced, but this doesn't look like a flop to me.

From this trailer, I have a few thoughts:
It isn't a first person shooter, that is an improvement from the Metroid Prime games.
The pacing looks to fast, I enjoyed the relatively slow pace of the first Metroid game. This isn't necessarily going to hurt it at all, and I could deal with it.
I cannot tell if it is full 3D, or sort of 2.5D with an odd camera placement, it could work either way.
The grappling moves look stupid, pulling an instant execution just doesn't seem right for the series.
If the morph ball bombs can still be used to jump, they might need to rethink how the bombs are to make it easier to use in 3D.
This game looks like it will either be one of the greatest games ever made, or one of the worst games ever made, it doesn't look like it could qualify as simply passable, or just a little bit bad. It will be one way or the other.

Has anyone gotten this game? How is it? Is it worth the buy?

-Why is it an improvement? The first person shooter take of Metroid didn't make the games bad. In fact, the Prime series was pretty good.
-It's fairly slow, actually. It's just a trailer, so they have to make it fast in order to fit time constraints.
-For the most part, Third-Person shooter. I don't know whether you'd qualify that as 3D or 2.5D.
-The grappling moves are pretty good, and on most enemies, it's hard to pull off, because they will rarely be stunned long enough to grapple them.
-The morph balls have also been this way, I don't see much of a difference. There's another way to Morph Ball Jump anyways.
@ChrisP
It's a good game, but there are people who outraged by it. They really set a... different Samus portrayal than most gamers wanted. They also complain the cutscenes are too long, but they really aren't.

-An improvement because I really liked Metroid before, and I don't like first person shooters all that much.
-It being slow is a good thing in my opinion, I like slow games.
-Third person shooter is fine, 2.5D would mean you are constricted to a two dimensional plane despite being in a world rendered in 3D.
-Grappling seems better than I had hoped from what you said.
-That's good on the morph ball, the fact that it is functional
