Unofficially called, Secret of Mana 2, Seiken Densetsu 3 is a part of the Secret of Mana series.

Seiken Densetsu 3, AKA Holy Sword Legend 3, is an action role-playing game developed and published by Square (now Square Enix) for Nintendo's Super Famicom as a part of the Mana series.

The game features three lengthy main plotlines, six different characters, each with their own storylines, and a wide range of classes to choose from, which provides each character with an exclusive set of skills and status progression. The game also makes use of a time progression system, with transitions from day to night and weekday to weekday in game time, adding to the game's challenging gameplay.

Seiken Densetsu 3 plays very much like its predecessor Secret of Mana, as it employs a real-time combat system, making use of a ring menu which provides the player with quick access to magic spells, items and character information, amongst other options. One of its main differences, though, is that the range of characters is doubled to six, with the player choosing the three user of his or her party when commencing a new game.

Story:
According to Seiken Densetsu 3's in-game lore, the Mana Goddess created the game's world by forging the powerful Sword of Mana and defeating eight benevodons (God-Beasts in the fan-translation) with it, sealing them within eight Mana Stones, before turning herself into the Mana Tree and falling asleep. The game is set at a time when Mana starts to fade and peace has ended, as some people plot to unleash the benevodons from the stones so as to gain ultimate power, politically and magically. Heroes of Mana is a direct prequel to Seiken Densetsu 3, taking place 19 years before the latter's story.

Also known as Defenders of Oasis, Shadam Crusader: Harukanaru Oukoku in Japan, is a role-playing video game released in 1992 for the Sega Game Gear handheld system.

Story:
In the days of old, the world was a stage for continual battles between Light and Darkness. People were constantly terrorized by Ahriman, the Wizard of Darkness. Then a young man appeared, who would change the world forever.

His name was Jamseed. Using three rings given to him by the Wizard of Light Jamseed fought Ahriman and sealed him away. However, Ahriman, stripped of his power, still did not give up.

He sent his servant, the Snake King Zahhark, to attack the kingdom of Shanadar founded by Jamseed. Jamseed was killed and the world reverted to an age of darkness. When 1000 years had passed, a warrior named Fallidoon defeated Zahhark and brought peace back to the world.

When the world had all but forgotten these events, an empire called Eflaat rose up... Shanadar once again had to stand up and fight for peace...

Using the same graphical interface as Deja Vu, Shadowgate is an adventure game set in a fantasy world. Players take the part of an adventurer sent to the ancient keep of Shadowgate on a quest to find a mystic artifact known as the Staff of Ages and stop the evil Warlock Lord from summoning a horrific demon known as the Behemoth. However Shadowgate has become infested with the Warlock Lord's demonic minions, not to mention the castle's still functional booby-traps.

Unlike Deja Vu, death comes at you suddenly, unexpectedly, and most of all OFTEN. Such simple acts as pulling the wrong switch or opening the wrong door can cause you to be skewered by a booby-trap or disemboweled by a monster. Not to mention the fact that if your torch burns out(this happens quite regularly) and you forget to light a new one, you'll trip in the dark and break your neck.

The year is 2050 and the megacorporations rule by the power of information. Everyone is on file in the global mainframe - everyone but you and a handful of "invisible" outlaws called shadowrunners. Move through the grim and magical realities of futuristic Seattle and uncover a diabolical plot that could destroy the world.

Awesome concept, but not for everyone. The action sequences are done overhead-style. The cyberjacking sequences are both graphically impressive and fun to play. The game has a cult following and is considered a worthy addition to the Shadowrun universe. Worth a play if you've never tried it before.

Based on the popular FASA paper-&-dice RPG, Shadowrun is a futuristic yarn set in the Seattle of the mid-21st century. Existing in an alternate universe wherein many conventions of traditional fantasy RPGs such as elves and dragons coexist with cybernetic enhancements and heavy ordinance firepower, Shadowrun presents a unique familiarity to the average Role-player with it's urban setting and fantastic magic and technology.

The player character, Jake, awakens in a morgue, suffering amnesia. Hoods attack Jake as soon as he escapes. As the story unfolds, it is revealed that someone was trying to kill him, and thought they'd succeeded. Jake goes throughout the city, breaking into computer databases, calling in markers, taking on every sort of foe from hit-men to evil animal spirits to vampires -- all in search of the man (or thing?) that wants his head on a platter.

Shadowrun uses an isometric perspective map to move Jake through the urban sprawl. Combat is resolved in real-time; move the crosshair over the target and fire away. Mark your targets, however; gunning down a 'civvie' can result in the loss of karma points (experience). The player controls only one character throughout the game, but several allies can be found. These hired guns can be exceedingly helpful.

Atmosphere is where Shadowrun differs so greatly from other Super Nintendo RPGs. Whereas most games feature an unusually cheery motif in a rather mundane fantasy world, Shadowrun is dark, brooding, cynical -- factors that make the game not quite for kids.

Shin Megami Tensei, which literally translates to "True Goddess Reincarnation", is a role-playing video game from Atlus that was originally released on October 30, 1992 and later on several platforms, although no installment was released outside of Japan.

Gameplay:
Shin Megami Tensei is a second-person RPG, like many regular computer/video game RPGs such as the Wizardry series. The player navigates through dungeons with a party of up to six characters. The combat is turn-based in a representative field of vision that resembles Wizardry in that it is first-person.

Story:
The story is set in Tokyo in the year 199X. Demons from the nether-realm of Makai have found their way back to Earth, and as such have upset the balance of power. A charismatic Japanese leader attempts a coup d'

Shin Megami Tensei 2 is the direct sequel to Shin Megami Tensei for the Super Famicom released on March 18, 1994 in Japan.

Gameplay:
The gameplay is similar to Shin Megami Tensei with a few changed aspects. First, the automap screen can be called with the press of the R button.

A new system of "magic succession" was introduced in the Demon Fusion system, the trademark system of the game series. The spells of the demons used for the fusion can be passed on to the outcoming demon, which can even allow the weakest demon to possess the most powerful spell in the game.

Story:
This game follows the story of Hawk, a battler in the Valhalla district of Tokyo Millennium. The citizens of Valhalla compete in a tournament in hopes of gaining citizenship in the Center district, which is out of the reach of demons.

Hawk fights in the tournament and wins. He gains citizenship in the Center district and has a personal meeting with the Bishop of the Messian religion. During the meeting, he is told that he is actually the Messiah, who will one day save mankind from the current bleak world and bring about a paradise called the "Thousand Year Kingdom".

Hawk, whose true name is revealed to be Aleph, is sent on missions from the Center to eradicate demons and prepare the world for the Thousand Year Kingdom. Yet while he travels across Tokyo Millennium, he witnesses first-hand the atrocities the Center inflicts on the people and must decide whether to follow his pre-determined destiny or fight against it in the hope of creating something better.

Shining Force 2, an entirely new story in which the Shining Force team reunites to deal with a revived King Zeon, the Evil of All Ages.

Aaahhhh, Shining Force...I must have played this game all the way through at least ten times. This is where RPGs like Vandal Hearts and Final Fantasy Tactics got their userideas. Just when you though the first one couldn't be topped, the second one comes along. More enemies, more allies, more weapons.... Shining Force 2 is my favorite Genesis RPG of all time.

The game consists of a series of turn-based tactical battles interspersed with short cutscenes. Between cutscenes the player is allowed to save the game, promote characters, resurrect fallen characters, and sometimes buy and sell weapons and healing items. The combat and leveling mechanics are useridentical to those of Shining Force I.

Due to the linear progression of the game, the English menus, and the use of gameplay mechanics useridentical to other installments of the series, the game is easily playable by non-Japanese speakers, though keeping track of equipped weapons can present some minor difficulties.

Shining Force Gaiden 3: Final Conflict is the third of the Gaiden sub-series, and is both a sequel to the original Shining Force: The Legacy of Great Intention, and a prequel to Shining Force II: Ancient Sealing.

Story:
Max, the leader of the Shining Force from the first Shining Force game, is chasing the witch Mishaela (servant of the presumably dead villain Darksol, from the same game). One of Max's companions, the robot Adam, is injured in battle with Mishaela. Max's party stops to help the robot, and only Max and his companion Ridion continue the chase.

Unfortunately, Max and Ridion never came back from the chase. Led by a man named Ian, Max's remaining companions set out to find them, and the unexpected awaits...

Gameplay:
Shining Force Gaiden: Final Conflict uses gameplay useridentical to Shining Force Gaiden I and II. Like most games from the series, the three Gaiden games do not possess an exploration mode. Between battles, the player is able to buy and sell items, choose the battle party, cure and resurrect units, and save the game.

Shining Force: The Sword of Hajya, AKA Shining Force Gaiden II: Jashin no Kakusei, uses gameplay mechanics useridentical to those of its predecessor, Shining Force Gaiden. The player progresses through a series of turn-based tactical battles interspersed with short cutscenes. Between cutscenes the player is allowed to save the game, promote characters, resurrect fallen characters, and sometimes buy and sell weapons and healing items. As with most strategy RPGs, the battlefields are divided up into a grid where player characters and enemies take turns moving, attacking, casting magic and using items. Player characters gain experience by battling enemies, and may choose, once they reach level 10, to upgrade their class into a more powerful one.

SPECIAL NOTE:

This game will randomly freeze. You will not be able to complete the game without running into a major bug in the game a couple times. But if you make frequent save states you will be able to eventually finish the game.

This is a game about Robert, a simple man with a destiny. It begins with him receiving a letter from a relative in England, in which he is invited to meet at Stonehenge. When he arrives he is whisked away to Valoria. Valoria is a magical place with Orcs, Dragons, and Wizards. There he learns of his destiny.

Spellcraft consists of fighting in one of seven realms: Earth, Fire, Air, Water, Mind, Ether, and Death. Each realm can be morphed, damaged, and manipulated by magical spells that are cast by either the player or an enemy wizard. The player's character can attack with his sword and cast spells when in a realm. Spells consist of the following types: Attack, Defense, Terrain Modifier, Personal Modifier, Transformations, and Creature Summoning.

Magical spells are created through the use of spell components. Start with one Aspect. Mix in a specific ratio of Powders, Jewels, Stones, and Candles. Then say the magic word. This creates a base of a magic spell that can be duplicated and used in battle. If the wrong formula is used, the player will die in one of many horrific deaths. The key is to solve the formulas by information both gathered in game and in the game's manual. The manual contains a mostly empty table where players can write-in all the spells they make in the game. Later, the player can modify his spells to customize them by slightly altering their formula to enhance one or many attributes.

Also the player can speak and trade with a variety of NPCs located across Earth. They provide hints to formulas and provide tidbits of story.

Along the way, you will encounter villainous characters and numerous obstacles designed to test your faith. Correctly answering Bible questions will help restore your health and strengthen your spirit.

Yet another lame attempt a making a religious arcade game from the Bible-belt blue-noses, apparently inspired by The Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan.
