Paladin's Quest, known as Lennus "Memories of an Ancient Machine Lenneth" in Japan, is a role-playing video game developed by Copya System and published in Japan by Asmik Corporation on November 13, 1992, for the Super Famicom.

Gameplay:
Paladin's Quest draws gameplay features from many other games of its era, and adds some interesting innovations of its own to the mix. Like many role-playing video games, the game has a battle mode and an adventure mode - within the adventure mode, the character might be in the overworld map or a dungeon (in which case the player will meet with random encounters), or in a town (in which case random encounters do not occur). This mode is a traditional top-down view. In case of a battle, the game switches to a battle mode. In battle, the player is "facing" the enemy, similar to the Dragon Warrior games. The game's battle mode is Turn-based, in contrast to the Active Time Battle system used by the Final Fantasy games in the same time period. That is, increasing a character's speed increases the chances of acting earlier within a turn, but does not change how frequently that character's turns come about. From each battle, characters accrue experience points, which eventually lead to higher levels, and better attributes. During battle, use of healing items usually, but not always, takes priority and occurs before the enemy can strike.

Plot:
The game centers around a boy named Chezni who, on a dare, activates an ancient machine called Dal Gren and in doing so releases a being of immense power and evil. As a result the magic school is destroyed and the headmaster of the school orders Chezni to destroy Dal Gren at whatever cost before it destroys the world. During his travels he meets a girl named Midia, very much like himself, who wishes to help him on his quest, and numerous other mercenaries that come to aid Chezni. The main antagonist is a young dictator named Zaygos, who wants to use the Dal Gren for his own nefarious purposes.

Sega of America did a very inaccurate translation of the original Japanese game. Items and names were changed, text was both censored and removed, personalities and motivations were changed, and a large amount of additional dialogue they just made up was added. This is an accurate translation of the original Japanese version.

Phantasy Star II Text Adventures were a series of eight text adventure video games available to users of Sega Meganet, a modem for the Sega Mega Drive in Japan, and later released as part of a compilation on Sega CD. Each of the games takes place shortly before Phantasy Star II, documenting the backgrounds of its characters, and explaining what brings them to the town Paseo where they eventually team up to investigate the pervasive troubles of the Algol Solar System.

Three of the eight games have been translated into English.

Anne Sage has just finished her internship at the hospital in River Town, and has become a full-fledged doctor. Calm, yet strong-willed, she is dedicated in helping everyone who needs her medical aid. Her chapter takes place in the spring of AW 1284, shortly before the events of Phantasy Star II, giving the player some insight into why she became a doctor and decided to specialize in helping victims of Biomonster attacks.

This game is kinda like Shadowgate set in the universe of Phantasy Star. Except it's a little more complicated than Shadowgate because there's more interaction, there's shops, and you don't have a torch that kills you every time it decides to sputter out. And the puzzles are niftier. But stop reading and everyone go play. This is a helluva fun game.

A text adventure based on the popular Phantasy Star mythos. You play an unnamed Agent from Planet Motavia's City of
Knowledge, Paseo, on his vacation to Dezolis to see a friend's new invention. However, Doctor Miller gets kidnapped and his invention is
stolen; it's up to you to rescue the doctor and get the invention back!

Part of a multi-generational saga that mixes elements of the sci-fi, fantasy, strategy, and RPG genres. The underlying thread that unites the series is that of an ancient evil which arises in various forms to threaten the peaceful existence of the inhabitants of the Algo star system. Time and again it is defeated, only to rise, again in an even more threatening form with each new age, until a climatic confrontation is forced in the fourth and final installment.

This is for Sega fans what the Final Fantasy series is for Nintendo fans. It is an ABSOLUTE MUST if you an RPG fan. The third game in the series doesn't quite fit, as it deals with a side story. The fourth and final installment was such a huge success that it inspired its own anime TV series in Japan. Don't just take my word for it - play the series and see for yourself!

Phantasy Star 2, the direct sequel to the first game, it has the best ending of any game in the series and can hold its own against PS4.
