My assumption is it is counting your second keyboard as a completely seperate device.

If that is true, then yes you need to re-map the keys. You only need to do it once. So if it works, then press F5 which will reset the game and you should be good to go.

If it doesn't work then maybe try remapping keys on your laptop keyboard until you have a layout that is ideal on it.
