Re: A.P.A.: Violent video games make you aggressive

Sorry about the poll, the last 2 options above 'Other please specify' are practically identical.
Originally I had one of those read as 'impressionable younger players', but figured that's so obvious it's not worth mentioning.

Studies about video game violence cause aggressive behavior in me.
I must admit my opinion is heavily biased due to my love of games in general and any threat to them makes me fearful I may not be able to enjoy them anymore - and that fear does make me mad in a way.

I've known people who get really amped up by violent games/movies so yeah I believe there can be a connection. I don't think it's just people with issues though, some people are impressionable and they lose themselves in the moment. I guess it could be called blood lust?
Agreed, but should the rest of the world be censored just because certain people can't control themselves?

Guns don't kill people, video games do.
In certain instances this is unfortunately the truth; marathon Gamers have dropped dead after 12+ hour sessions.
Where guns are concerned, I think everyone should own and carry a gun - there's nothing wrong with them except the fear - mongering hype taught by the mainstream media.
Smartass answer, I know.

Most of these kinds of 'studies' seem to be geared towards making the world kid - friendly.
The world is NOT kid - friendly and censorship {which is where this is leading} does not work.
Furthermore, these 'kids' AREN'T kids anymore - am I the only one who can see this?

Furthermore furthermore, people LOVE violence, gore, killing - but we call it 'action' - it's in our genes and I believe every human has a Killer Instinct » Super Nintendo , however well hidden and suppressed it is within an individual.
Video games provide a safe and sane outlet for this.
