I was gonna say this topic would be better off in debate until I saw the direction you took it in. Why are you always so willing to accept the scenario with the least amount of evidence and/or motive? Isn't it far more likely that they were just sloppy and ignoring safety rules? I heard that they were warned and it's being reported in the media so I assume that much is true but to assume that the rig was allowed to blow intentionally is just reaching. Why would they purposely cause this horrific environmental disaster? I see no benefit and it only hurts everyone by ruining the Gulf of Mexico and miles upon miles of US/Mexican land.

Besides all that I am in shock at how bad this spill is. The numbers are just staggering and there is no end in site. This will effect the earth for many decades.
